The central terminal at LaGuardia Airport in New York was evacuated on the morning of August 1, 2009, due to an intoxicated man claiming he had a bomb in his bag. Passengers were evacuated from the terminal and off the planes on the runway. The incident, which occurred around 5:30 a.m., caused all flights to be halted and at 9:00 a.m. it was unclear if the suspension had been lifted. The NYPD inspected the bag and found what appeared to be a homemade fake-bomb.
