The documentary “This Is It,” featuring footage of Michael Jackson’s last months, will premiere in theaters on October 29, 2009. The film is expected to be available on DVD, possibly on Blu-ray. (Maybe before the holidays?)

The Rolling Stone reported in August about the possibility of 3D footage in “This Is It””:

“While it was first reported that select theaters will also feature some of the 3-D shorts Jackson had filmed for the London concerts, Variety now writes that those segments have since been cut out of the theatrical film, which under the rules of the contract must run [...]
